Modelling in clay

The gentleman in the background of the photo is my friend Terry McDonald. Terry worked as a Monumental Sculptor for the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral for many years, here he is instructing me on the tools and techniques of modelling…on this page you can see the finished portrait Bust of Helen and the preparation prior to casting plus a video of a cast being made (not mine). In the photo of Terry in his studio you can see a small plaster maquette in front of him, in the next photo you can see the final sculpture "Mother and Child" which it at the entrance to the Liverpool Women's Hospital. There are two other videos on this subject you may also find interesting, one of them is an old movie and is not the best quality and there is no sound, but it is interesting.
